DENVER (KDVR) -- Denver Public Schools is holding a two-day "celebration" ahead of the start of the new school year.
Called the Back to Class Bash, the "celebration of community spirit, school pride, and support for Denver students and educators," includes three separate events, starting with a "service day" on Friday.
The service day is being held from 7 to 11 a.m. at both Hallett Academy and Carson Elementary, where volunteers will gather to "beautify" school grounds, assist with campus improvement projects and "prepare welcoming environments for students and staff."

The second event is a free pop-up shop at Abraham Lincoln
