(WNDU) - It’s back-to-school season here in Michiana, which means there are a lot more school buses on the road.

That’s why we want to remind you what to do when you see a stopped school bus on your morning or afternoon commute.

Two-Lane Road

If you are on a two-lane road and a school bus stops, you must stop no matter what lane you’re in.

Multi-Lane Road (Paved Across)

If you’re on a multi-lane road with no median, you must stop no matter what lane you’re in.

Divided Highway

The only time you can keep driving if a school bus stops is if you’re separated from the bus by grass or a median on a divided highway... and only then can you proceed with caution.

If you’re on the same side of the road as the bus, you must stop.
