A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a vehicle in Rainier Valley late Thursday night.

Seattle police officers responded to the collision on Rainier Avenue South and South Willow Street just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday. They found a 29-year-old man who was critically injured on the road and a woman inside a damaged vehicle, police said.

Witnesses told police the motorcyclist was speedily weaving through northbound traffic on Rainier Avenue South when he crashed into a vehicle going eastbound on South Willow Street.

The woman showed no signs of impairment, police said.

Medics from the Seattle Fire Department tried to save the motorcyclist’s life, but he was pronounced dead.
