KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. — After a First Flight High School graduate was killed in a shooting at Avalon Fishing Pier , the Dare County school division is offering support to students.

In a letter sent to families, the statement said last Thursday's shooting left them "truly shaken." Zane Hughes, 19, was fatally shot, and a teen bystander was shot in the leg and medflighted to a hospital.

Police say 16-year-old Henry Hargis faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
