Concerned businesses around former Western Ave. Kroger invited to community event

Business owners concerned about the Western Avenue Kroger closure are invited to a community event on Tuesday.

Second District Councilwoman Ophelia Gooden-Rodgers is hosting a community event for business owners or representatives to express their concerns.

Kroger played an important role in sustaining steady foot traffic in the plaza, and its closure has already affected businesses in the area.

Business owners have reported a rise in unauthorized incidents during customer business and a noticeable decline in revenue.

The community meeting is happening at the Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Center on Linden Ave. from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
