Is there a certain church in Lenawee County that takes your breath away?

For some, it's vibrant stained glass windows. For others, it's cozy pews, elaborate carvings, grand ceilings, or unique architecture.

For this month's poll, we asked readers to nominate and vote for the church in Lenawee County they feel is the most beautiful.

First place went to Sacred Heart in Hudson, which earned 37.5% of the vote. The church at 207 S. Market St. opened in 1868 under Rev. Francis Joseph Van Erp.

The brick and stone building features two spires, a large round window with a star, and a statue above the entrance.

Inside, the arched walls and ceiling are white with gold accents. Large, stained glass windows and several Stations of the Cross depict scenes from the Bible and the life of Jesus.
