SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - As part of Navy Week this week, a Day of Honor is being held at the SD Battleship Memorial on August 9.

Battleship Board Commander Diane Diekman and Board Member Rick Tupper joined Dakota News Now to tell us more.

“We have an annual USS South Dakota Day of Honor on the second Saturday of every August. We honor all of the ships that have been named USS South Dakota. There was an armored cruiser in World War 1, there was the battleship, and there is currently a submarine on active duty. So, it’s kind of a reunion of the crew members and families also,” said Diekman.
