Alex Warren understands that not everyone has loved, loves, or will love his style of music — and he’s totally fine with that. On Friday, as he was named MTV ‘s Push Artist of the month, the “Ordinary” star opened up about the quick start of his career, and how much his music has resonated with certain audiences.

“I started doing somewhat okay, and I felt like a lot of questions people were asking were like ‘Who the heck is this kid?’,” Warren told MTV. “And I think that’s the thing, this is not everyone’s cup of tea, I do not expect everyone to like this music, but if you do, I hope it helps you, you know, and if you don’t, still hope it helps you.”

Some people have connected so much with his music — and specifically his hit, “ Ordinary ” — that they are using it in weddings.
