The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced that forward Joel Kiviranta has signed a one-year contract for the 2025-26 season. Kiviranta, 29, played 79 regular-season games and seven playoff games for the Avalanche in 2024-25, his second season with the team. He achieved career-highs in goals (16), points (23), and recorded his first two game-winning goals. He also had three multi-goal games, including his first regular-season hat trick on Dec. 22 against Seattle.
From Vantaa, Finland, Kiviranta played his 100th game with the Avalanche on Jan. 11, 2025. In 135 games with Colorado, he has 32 points (19g/13a) and two career-high three-point games. He had a four-game goal streak from March 6-11, beginning with his second shorthanded goal on March 6. This is his third NHL contract with the A
