TYLER, Texas — Ahead of the trial in roughly two weeks, the state and defense discussed final issues on Friday in the case of a man accused of murdering a Tyler business owner last year.

Scotty Lee Goble, of Corsicana, is accused of murdering Heriberto "Eddie" Ramirez, 38, of Tyler. Ramirez was shot and killed in the parking lot of Junior's Taqueria, located at 3815 S SW Loop 323, on Oct. 11, 2024. Ramirez was the co-owner of the business. Documents say the shooting happened after an argument between employees and Goble.

During a pre-trial hearing, the prosecution said they will ask the Ramirez family to not wear any clothing that bears a photo of Ramirez or something that would lead to a possible unfair trial for Goble.
