AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Knives were found on two separate local high school campuses in the past two days, according to authorities.

The first was Thursday at Cross Creek High School in Augusta and the second was announced Friday at Lakeside High School in Evans.

In the first incident of the school year in Richmond County, a student was found with a knife at Cross Creek High School on Thursday.

Administrators said that during regular check-ins, metal detectors alerted authorities to a potential weapon.
