After months of leadership turnover and stalled momentum at the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, the Amarillo City Council on Thursday, Aug. 7 filled the board’s final vacancy by appointing veteran businessman Brian Bruckner. Council members said the move is intended to restore stability and help the AEDC refocus on its core mission.

Bruckner, president of Bruckner Truck Sales and a former AEDC board member, was unanimously appointed during a special meeting to replace Alex Fairly, who resigned as board chair in July. His appointment completes the permanent five-member board, following a temporary structure the council implemented earlier this year.
