FORT GREENE — COMMUNITY BUILDING IS THE FOCUS OF BKLYN ROOTS, a series of trainings that Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forest is offering to her constituents in District 57, which covers parts of Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights and Crown Heights . The training sessions are free and open to “anyone with an interest in Assembly District 57.” The goal is to help residents build the skills to become strong community leaders. Veteran community leaders and newcomers interested in organization are welcome to the four Saturday training sessions, scheduled for Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27. Topics will also include power mapping, civics and “state government 101” and local context. Meals and child care are provided. Interested persons may register by Aug. 15.
