Three pitchers combined to strike out 12 batters for a four-hit shutout to give the Jackfish their fifth straight win and the Intercounty Baseball League pennant for the third time in as many years.

Thursday night’s 10-0 victory over the visiting Brantford Red Sox improved Welland’s record to 28-10 with four games remaining in the regular season. Brantford fell to 8-28 and will miss the playoffs for the second year in a row.
