PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The Lake County General Health District will conduct mosquito spraying in several communities next week to help reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases, Mentor officials announced.

Weather permitting, treatments will take place Monday, Aug. 11, in Concord Township locations; Tuesday, Aug. 12, in Willoughby Hills and Mentor locations; and Thursday, Aug. 14, also in Mentor. No spraying is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 13.

The health district, licensed through the Ohio Department of Agriculture, applies pesticides to control mosquitoes that can carry La Crosse and St. Louis encephalitis viruses, as well as West Nile virus.
