BLOUNT CO., Tenn. (WVLT) - For the 19th year, Slimfest is set to rock Blount County into a Tennessee Saturday night.

Unlike years past this years event will take place just East of downtown Maryville at 2805 E Lamar Alexander Parkway, across from Premier Event Rentals.

For nearly a decade and a half, Slimfest benefited Shop with a Cop, but not any longer.

“It started 19 years ago and I did it with Shop with a Cop for 14-15 years and now they do a golf tournament and fund it that way, and I’ve always wanted to keep it for the youth,’ said Steve ”Slim" Stilts organizer of the event. “I feel like that’s a good investment, so I met Jabari Davis and found out a lot about his camp and the things he does with the children, I like that and the people who follow me and support me they like that
