Summer registration for families with youngsters heading to a new school is offered by the St. Clair Catholic District School Board to smooth out bumps that may come with the start of classes in September.

The sessions in Sarnia, Chatham and Wallaceburg are for families that are new to the board, have recently moved to a new school neighbourhood or are considering sending kids to a Catholic school for the first time.

“We’re trying to get them to register before the last minute so they can have all their ducks in a row before school starts,” said Carey De Koning, the board’s coordinator of school support.

“We’re trying to capture those families that moved into the area in July and August and weren’t available to register” before the school year ended in June, she said
