They’re getting the band back together.

That’s how Jason Kucsma, executive director of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library, describes what’s happening to the Main Library’s space that was formerly occupied by SAME Cafe, a donation-based, fair exchange nonprofit restaurant based in Denver which ceased its Toledo operations April 23.

A reboot with the same mission and a similar concept is in progress.

It’s headed up by EatWell Cafe, a newly formed group of former SAME Cafe employees and board members seeking nonprofit status and local ownership. The fledgling group was recently chosen by the library to take over the restaurant space.
