Edmonton police say they have recovered a vehicle that was involved in the fatal hit-and-run of a 13-year-old last year.

Police said on May 29, 2024, a 13-year-old was riding his bicycle when he was fatally struck in a hit-and-run in southeast Edmonton.

Another driver found the boy around 4 a.m. and called police. Paramedics also responded to the scene; however, the boy died from his injuries a short time later.

“It appears that the male was operating a bicycle eastbound on 34th Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle,” Sgt. Richard Windover told CityNews following the collision. “That vehicle did not
