LA MESA — It isn’t a miracle he’s alive.
Rather, it’s the result of early detection, a skilled team and fast response.
David Worsham, 44, is recovering after suffering a major heart attack in the spring.
On Friday, Aug. 1, the husband and father reunited with the medical team at Sharp Grossmont Hospital who gave him emergency medical care.
Among those present were Dr. Alexandra Kharazi, a cardiothoracic surgeon at Sharp Grossmont Hospital Burr Heart and Vascular Center, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Janabi, an intensivist and pulmonologist with Sharp Community Medical Group.
Worsham is well below the average age men have their first heart attack, 65, based on data from the American Heart Association.
However, Worsham’s own father died from heart failure at age 52.
