More than a week after a home exploded in Jeffersonville, injuring several people, police have released what caused it: a gas leak.
The home in the 900 block of Washington Way blew up late at night on July 30.
When officers arrived, the home was engulfed in flames and there were five injured people in the front yard.
The home was destroyed and all of the victims have severe burns.
The next day, CenterPoint Energy, which serves that area, said no gas leaks had been detected, and the same was true the day after.
But on Friday, Jeffersonville police said that after an extensive investigation, they found there was a gas leak inside of the home that caused it to explode.
