LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

It's a Louisville summer tradition — St. Joe's Picnic.

The picnic, which is in its 176th year, kicked off on Friday and serves as an important fundraiser for the children's home.

Over the next two days, an estimated 50,000 people will help a group of kids that need it more than most.

Friday and Saturday evening, the front lawn of St. Joseph's Children's Home will turn into the venue for one of Louisville's largest festivals.

For 76 years, St. Joseph's Children's Home CAO Suzy Hillebrand and her family have given their time to the event.
