CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — On a warm August night at Blossom Music Center, 25-year-old Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter Laufey was on a mission to reintroduce jazz and classical to a modern audience.

She more than made the case that a) nostalgia doesn’t have to be dusty; b) romance is far from dead, and c) she has much bigger stages to inhabit in her future.

Fresh off two sold-out nights at New York’s Chautauqua Institution, Laufey (pronounced LAY-vay; full name Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir) brought her “A Night at the Symphony” tour to Blossom.
