SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — In the 24 hours since the Beulah Fire sparked in Summit County, it has expanded to burn an estimated 1,400 acres.

Officials tell ABC4.com that campers near the East Fork of the Bear River, as well as the Millcreek area and the west side of the Black Fork area, have all been evacuated.

Utah Fire Info first reported the Beulah Fire just after noon on Thursday, Aug. 6. Officials described the fire as "rapidly spreading," and said it had burned more than 300 acres in just under an hour.

For public safety, the North Slope Road at the West Fork of the Blacks Fork, the East Fork of the Bear River and Mill Creek was closed. Elizabeth Ridge and Elizabeth Pass roads were also closed.
