Two Prairie provinces are home to sharply different labour markets, according to the latest Statistics Canada data , which shows rising unemployment in Alberta while Saskatchewan boasts the lowest jobless rate in the country.

Saskatchewan was the only Canadian province that posted job gains in July, with employment rising by 3,500 positions, as its unemployment rate was largely unchanged at five per cent.
