A federal jury has convicted an Albuquerque man for his role in a massive fentanyl trafficking ring.

Officials said it was the largest pill seizure in DEA history.

Prosecutors said Alex Martinez acted as a regional manager for the operation, with investigators adding he helped supply dealers across Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Hobbs.

This is the first conviction in the federal case, and Martinez faces life in prison.
