No mainline freeway shutdowns planned in Arizona

PHOENIX – There are no full freeway closures scheduled this weekend in the Valley, but state transportation officials advise drivers to consider options in areas where ramps and local streets will require work.

Motorists should plan for the following ramp or street closures associated with Valley freeway improvement projects from Friday night until Monday morning, Aug. 8-11:

The westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Arizona Avenue in Chandler will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work.

Drivers should consider exiting at McQueen or Alma School roads.

The eastbound Loop 101 ramp to north- and southbound I-17 will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for construction.
