MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve didn't hold back when speaking about the recent sex-toy disturbances occurring at WNBA games.
“This has been going on for centuries, the sexualization of women. This is the latest version of that. It’s not funny. It should not be the butt of jokes," Reeve told reporters Thursday. “The sexualization of women is what’s used to hold women down, and this is no different.”
The four-time WNBA Coach of the Year spoke after Thursday's practice, calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable.
"We're not the butt of the joke," Reeve said. "They're the problem and we need to take action."
