A couple committed arson inside their flat and then blamed an innocent child for the fire. Detectives discovered that the pair had searched for house swap pages on social media before the blaze.
The incident caused twelve flats in the block where they lived to be evacuated. Fire crews were called to the flats in Nantwich in December last year with it being claimed that a child had started the fire with a lighter.
Attending the scene on Laurel Place, Henhull, police officers found a number of residents displaced. Amongst the residents gathered outside the building were Daniel and Charlotte Wollaston and a child, who had been in the address with them at the time of the incident.
