SHELLY, Minn. — Residents in Shelly, Minnesota, were evacuated on Friday due to the threat of burning chemicals near a large grain elevator fire.
According to a post from the Norman County Sheriff's Office, a mandatory evacuation was issued because the fumes from the heating or burning chemicals in a nearby building "may be harmful to human health."
The evacuation has since been lifted, but authorities are still urging people to stay clear of the area while fire officials remain at the scene. It's unclear if there were any injuries or what may have caused the fire.
