MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A man has been arrested after several jewelry stores were broken into at Monroe Crossing Mall, resulting in the theft of thousands of dollars in merchandise.

Monroe Police officers responded to an alarm at Monroe Crossing Mall around 1:30 a.m. July 24.

When officers arrived, they found a glass door that had been shattered. It was later discovered that the Piercing Pagoda kiosk had been broken into and jewelry had been taken.

Later that morning, other stores in the mall reported break-ins and missing items.

The total value of the stolen jewelry from all affected stores is estimated at $45,000.

Cameron McManus, 33, of Pageland, was identified as the suspect.
