LITTLE FALLS — A 57-year-old Hillman man died Thursday, Aug. 7, after he fell from a tree he was working on in Morrison County.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident at 12:59 p.m. in Pulaski Township, east of Harding. According to a news release, Daniel Dickman had been working approximately 37 feet up in a tree at a residence on Circle Drive, cutting it down in sections. During the process, one of the cut sections swung unexpectedly, striking the tree trunk and causing it to break. Dickman fell to the ground and a portion of the tree subsequently landed on him.

Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, Dickman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
