A state appeals court has ruled that Lt. Gov. Ken Paxton can’t force Sister Norma Pimentel to testify in Paxton’s years-long effort to shut down Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, where Sister Norma is executive director.
As the lieutenant governor shifts his attention to his campaign to win election to the U.S. Senate, let’s hope this latest of several failures to kill the benevolent ministry mount, let’s hope he gives up his little war and leaves the organization, and the people they serve, in peace.
