The Texas Rangers have activated first baseman Jake Burger from the 10 day injured list, per MLB.com. To make room for Burger on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned outfielder Alejandro Osuna to AAA Round Rock.

Burger went on the injured list over the All Star Break with a quad strain. He has been on a rehab assignment, and went 4 for 6 last night and was a triple shy of the cycle, so I guess they decided he was ready to come back. I would assume that he will be the regular first baseman, though with Josh Smith excelling, Burger could end up in more of a platoon role with Joc Pederson at DH.

Osuna was called up when Evan Carter was placed on the injured list and appeared in the last five games the Rangers played, though two of those were late game appearances. In those five game
