FORT STEWART, Ga. (WSAV) — A husband and wife have been indicted on federal charges accusing them of the murder of their child while living at Fort Stewart, officials announced Friday.

Brandon and Stacey Kelly are accused of depriving their child, Vyolet Kelley, of "adequate nourishment and medical care," while living at Fort Stewart a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of Georgia said.

A federal court unsealed the indictment, which charges 29-year-old Brandon and 26-year-old Stacey with felony murder and two counts of second-degree murder. If convicted, they could potentially face penalties up to life in prison.

The charges alleged that Vyolet starved to death while living at the Fort Stewart Military Reservation.
