Things got heated in the tiny hamlet of Saint Einbach, Manitoba this weekend after the annual fall supper ran out of meatballs.
“And we weren’t doing all that well with the mashed potatoes either,” said event organizer Lois Brandt. “I’m sorry for our miscalculations but that’s no reason for violence.”
It all started after Mr. Bill Plett stood around waiting for meatballs and had to settle for a bun with jam instead.
“I paid $20 for this fall supper and I expect to be served,” said Plett. “That’s the last time I drive out to Saint Einbach. I guess I’ll stick to Pansy or Gardenton where they know what they’re doing.”
