PUYALLUP, Wash. — Daemeion Carmello Purdy, 19, who was accused of shooting and killing a woman during an attempted robbery in Puyallup last year was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison, plus three years in community custody Friday afternoon.

He was 17 years old at the time of the shooting.

As part of a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to second degree murder and second-degree assault.

Purdy was arrested in June 2024 along with Noah Maurice Loyd Branch, 19, and Ethan Nordgren, 19 , in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Gianna Stone.

Stone was from Kingston and was known as a cowgirl with a kind heart.

"She was beautiful, and kind, and she loved people," said Michael Stone, Gianna's father. "And she always tried to make the world a better place."
