BREMERTON, Wash. — Authorities are investigating 12 suspicious fires set in Kitsap County since late May, many in wooded areas near homes, and are offering a reward for information.

Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest of a suspected arsonist. The fires date back to May 25, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

One fire in an unincorporated, residential area near Bremerton caused minor damage to a wooden pedestrian bridge. Burned tree trunks, branches, ground debris and a chair could be seen at the site, just behind a residential neighborhood.

According to the Sheriff's Office, three other fires were reported in Tracyton.
