OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Come Monday morning, classrooms will be full of students excited to take on the year.

However, they have to look forward to a few things.

Marion County Public Schools Director of Public Relations Kevin Christian tells me no new safety measures are in place, but they are re-emphasizing their current safety measures.

“Any access point to any school campus, whether it’s a door or a gate or whatever, it must be locked whenever students are on campus. That means entryways and exit doors, those kinds of things,” said Christian.

Two new elementary schools are opening this year in the Marion Oaks area.
