THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - The City of Thomasville plans to make improvements to Remington Avenue, a major thoroughfare in the city.

Britt Wetherington, interim assistant city engineer, said the project began with the community.

“The purpose of this project all started with a community vision for Remington Avenue. The planning department spent numerous hours with the community and this is something the community really wanted to happen,” Wetherington said.

According to the city of Thomasville’s website , the project includes Remington Avenue between Reid Street and East Pinetree Boulevard and Kern Street between Reid Street and Smith Avenue.

The area on Remington Avenue, Reid Street and Kern Street is currently closed off and open only to residents who live in the area due to ongoing
