TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Second Harvest of the Big Bend responded to a recent announcement from the USDA about its intent to purchase $230 million worth of fresh food to distribute to food banks across the country.
The food will be distributed through programs like the Emergency Food Assistance Program.
Second Harvest said the donation will help both American farmers and people across the Big Bend.
In their Facebook post, Second Harvest of the Big Bend wrote, “Thank you USDA for your continued partnership. Together we’re building healthier, more nourished communities.”
