A woman has succumbed to her injuries after getting struck from behind by a bicyclist in northwest neighbourhood.

On Aug. 2, a woman out for a walk with her husband on a path near Hidden Valley Drive N.W. was struck from behind shortly before 4 p.m. by a 12-year-old on a bicycle. The woman, who was in her 50s, was knocked to the ground.

The victim sustained serious/life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The incident wasn’t initially reported and police did not attend the scene, but officers are now investigating.

Impairment and speed are not considered factors in the collision.
