A woman in her 50s has died following a collision with a 12-year-old cyclist in northwest Calgary. The incident occurred on August 2, shortly before 4 p.m., while the woman was walking with her husband on a pathway near Hidden Valley Drive N.W.

According to Calgary police, the young cyclist struck the woman from behind, causing her to fall to the ground. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.

Initially, the incident was not reported to the police, and they did not respond to the scene at the time. However, an investigation has since been launched. Authorities have stated that speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the collision.
