PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A man from Virginia was convicted Friday of murdering his former girlfriend, according to the Prince George's County Interim State's Attorney Tara Jackson.
Kevin Derr, 51, was convicted of first-degree murder after he stabbed his former girlfriend, 47-year-old Wendolyn McKoy, to death in April 2024.
The jury found Derr guilty on five counts, which include first-degree murder, first-degree assault, crime of violence in the presence of a minor, and unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle.
The incident happened on April 9, 2024. Officials said Derr waited for McKoy to come home, where he forced her out of her car and into the home, where he stabbed her to death.
Derr is facing life without the possibility of parole.
