MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (KCRG) - A Mount Vernon man has been sentenced after police found over 800 grams of ice methamphetamine in his car.
49-year-old Brice Horton, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
In May 2024, Officers searched Horton’s vehicle during a stop and found 814.9 grams of ice methamphetamine along with a loaded gun.
Horton was a convicted felon at the time and not allowed to have guns, according to court documents.
Police say Horton admitted to distributing over thirteen pounds of ice methamphetamine between May 2023 and May 2024. He also admitted to distributing 100 fentanyl pills.
Horton was sentenced to over twelve years in prison and a five-year supervised release.
