The Town of Saugeen Shores is encouraging you to reduce your water usage and pause lawn watering.
They say the recent hot, dry weather had resulted in increased water consumption, and lawn watering is one of the highest contributors to residential water use during the summer.
They’re also asking you to limit your car washing, pressure washing, or filling pools.
The Town says it’s taking steps to reduce its own outdoor water usage. It’s offering the following tips to reduce irrigation consumption:
Water lawns less frequently
Cut watering time by 30%
Remember to turn off automatic sprinklers when rain is happening or forecasted
Keep grass longer to protect roots and reduce watering needs
