RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police seized over half a million dollars worth of narcotics and 27 firearms as part of an ongoing crime suppression initiative.

The operation, which is in partnership with supporting federal and local agencies, saw state police seize 54 pounds of narcotics, valued at $527,000, during the week of July 30 to Aug. 5.

Officials also seized 27 firearms, valued at $14,500, as well as 2,003 controlled substance pills.

A breakdown of the recovered narcotics includes: • 1.2 pounds of cocaine • 1.2 ounces of crack cocaine • 10 pounds of methamphetamine • 42.9 pounds of marijuana • 7.4 pounds of fentanyl • 2,002 fentanyl pills • 1 ecstasy pill
