JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — After several years of anticipation, residents of the John Sevier Center in downtown Johnson City are just weeks from moving to brand new subsidized apartments and away from the century-old structure.
Leaders from LHP Capital, which manages the John Sevier and is building the new "Tapestry" a little more than a mile south on Roan Street, met with dozens of the 150 or so residents Friday morning for an update.
“What you’re paying in rent today is what you will pay in rent at the new location," LHP CEO of Development Alvin Nance told residents who attended one of three meetings. He was explaining a 90-day notice — required ahead of the move to the Tapestry, which he said could occur within 50 days.
