COLUMBUS, Ohio — A once-neglected apartment complex on Columbus’ east side is getting a new life after years of problems and a city-ordered shutdown.
Colonial Village, which closed in 2023 after inspectors found hundreds of code violations, is being rebuilt and rebranded as The Rand. Developers say 50 renovated units will be ready for move-in within a month, with 50 more becoming available each month over the next year.
The $1,100-to-$1,400 monthly rents come at a time when city officials say safe, affordable housing is in short supply.
