DUNCANNON, Pa. (WHTM) -- One Perry County community directed residents to conserve water after authorities said water storage levels have dropped and there may be a leak.

Duncannon said Phase 2 emergency water conservation measures are being enacted. Water restrictions are mandatory due to low reservoir levels and are effective immediately.

"Water conservation measures are no longer voluntary," the borough said. "All residential and commercial users are required to reduce your essential water usage and eliminate all non-essential water usage."

It described non-essential usage as watering lawns and gardens, washing cars, filling pools and exterior cleaning.
